Sneezing, a stuffy nose, itchy eyes, or a cough that won’t quit? Whether it’s your cat or dog, dust at home, mold, or pollen from the trees and grass, most allergy pills and sprays only cover up symptoms for a few hours. Allergy drops work differently. You place a few drops under your tongue each day, and over time they teach your immune system to stop overreacting to your triggers. The medical name is sublingual immunotherapy, or SLIT, and it’s a needle-free alternative to allergy shots with no weekly office visits. After your first dose in our office, you take your drops at home. Drops can be an option for both kids and adults, and Dr. Tyler Basen starts with simple allergy testing to find exactly what you’re reacting to.
